Welcome to our office and thank you for coming. We have compiled a list to help you understand the sequence and timing of your treatment. Please read below to simplify your "orthodontic experience".

Orthodontic Treatment Sequence

1. Initial Consultation (30 min)
Review of chief concern. Clinical exam. Estimate of fee and time in treatment.

2. Records (60 min)
Consists of:

• Orthodontic X-rays (panorex and lateral Ceph)
• Full mouth series X-rays (as necessary)
• Impressions for plaster diagnostic models
• A soft wax bite of teeth together
• Photographs of face and teeth

The records fee is paid at this visit.

3. Spacers and Treatment Consultation (30 min)
Finalize treatment plan and sequence. Elastic separators placed in between back teeth for 1-2 weeks before back braces can be put on. All paperwork must be signed and initial fee paid.

4. Bands (30 min)
Bands are the “back braces” that wrap around the tooth like a ring around your finger.

5. Brackets (60 min)
This is when we place the front braces (metal or esthetic). You will also get wires that attach to the brackets.

6. Adjustments (20-40 min) Usually done once per month. At these appointments you can change your colors.

7.Braces Off / Final Records (90 min)
Braces come off, your teeth are polished, full records as described above.

8. Post Retention (20 min)
Appointments following delivery of retainers to ensure that retainers fit properly and teeth are not shifting. The initial 3 visits may be combined at the treating Orthodontists discretion.
